Arsene Wenger may bid for Riyad Mahrez after admitting interest in winger

Mahrez has been linked with a move away from the Foxes after the club's drastic fall off from the 2015/16 season, when Leicester captured the Premier League title in unexpected fashion.

However in the following season his form dipped and he scored only six goals in 36 matches.

Like everybody at Leicester certainly a more hard season this year but it doesn't take anything away from his qualities.

Mertesacker endured an injury-plagued year that saw him wait until the final game of the season to make his first start. Not yet. No, we have not.

'It can happen quickly.' 'Arsenal would like to keep me, as there are already talks: it will be in the operational business, I will be on the other side'. "It might not happen", Wenger said.

Meanwhile, the 67-year-old has also been talking about influential pair Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who both have expiring contracts which run down next summer.

"I got out at the top and people still love me at Arsenal because of that, and I'd hate them to hate Arsene for killing to club over the next two years if he holds on too long".

That sort of money shouldn't be a problem for Arsenal as Wenger reportedly has a healthy transfer kitty to play with this summer and I think Mahrez would be an excellent addition to the squad. "Secondly, they love the club, they integrate well the values of the club and live the football we play".

"I've had the four best seasons of my career at Leicester and have loved every moment". When you buy him for £2m, people say he can not be good. "If you're a victor, you want to win the game you're playing", he added.
