Pokemon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon Might Be Coming To Nintendo Switch

As the Pokken Tournament info drop ended Nintendo took a brief moment to announce the hotly awaited Pokemon Sun and Moon Sequel title, Pokemon UltraMoon, and UltraSun for 3DS.

The new Pokken Tournament DX will also feature five new playable Pokemon! Game Freak was recruiting for a console game, after all. The video also showcases the brand new Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, both launching exclusively on Nintendo 3DS later this year.

Unfortunately for "Pokemon fans", good news and bad news were one in the same Tuesday.

Heads up, Nintendo Switch and 3DS users: New Pokémon games are coming your way. Teased in late 2013 and was released in Japan a year ago in February, we haven't heard much about the odd Detective Pikachu. From our plays of the Wii U version, we already know that it's a surprisingly addictive foray into Pokemon battles. Unfortunately, that did not come to fruition, but all the Pokemon goodies that did get announce are sure to act as a consolation prize, at very least. Additionally, players can use the Time Capsule feature to trade Pokemon from Red, Blue, and Yellow over to the second generation titles.

Pokemon Star seems to be defined as a true sequel to the Pokemon Sun and Moon and the plot is told through numerous cutscenes. These will come out on September 22, the same day as Pokken Tournament DX.

Still, there's a great chance the games Nintendo revealed Tuesday will be excellent, as almost every game in the "Pokemon" series has been. Could Pokemon Stars be sitting back, waiting for an announcement next week?
