Gianluigi Donnarumma: AC Milan keeper will not sign new deal says agent

Manchester United BLOW! AC Milan’s wonderkid goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma NOT FOR SALE

The Rossoneri were left stunned on Thursday when they were told by the 18-year-old's agent, Mino Raiola, that his client would not extend his current deal, which expires in June 2018.

Deciding to leave Milan - should his exit come to pass- won't have been a decision taken lightly by Donnarumma and when exactly that decision was made is one that warrants discussion. Just like that, he's turned his back on his boyhood club.

The Serie A champions would love Donnarumma to be the replacement for Gianluigi Buffon - in both in terms of his quality and longevity.

Juventus are the only Italian club with the resources to sign Donnarumma.

The second option for the Rossoneri is rumoured to be Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny, who of course has links of his own with Juventus.

They have impressed already this summer with their spending and have already surpassed €100 million - a tally not reached by the club since 2001-02. It's no surprise that Donnarumma's refusal to sign a contract would leave them visibly devastated. City could sign nine players this summer and there has also been some talk of the club pulling off the biggest transfer of the window. He can bench the kid, but he's still a kid and would be expected on the bench - especially if he moves to Madrid or United.

"I am perplexed at his decision not to stay with a club like Milan, but then I have my ideas on the matter".

As far as the player is concerned, he has attracted interest from some of the best clubs in the world.

Just a year on though, and things have changed dramatically - with Donnarumma potentially leaving to PSG or Real Madrid this summer as opposed to leaving for a free in a year's time.

The new development means there are now several different scenarios, with super-agent, Mino Raiola, key in deciding where the goalkeeping superstar ends up.
