'Wonder Woman' Wasn't Changed To Lighten Up the DCEU, Says Patty Jenkins

Wonder Woman now has a total of $221,460,634, putting Diana in fourth place behind the Hunger Games' Katniss, Jyn Erso of Rogue One, and Rey of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

A still from Wonder Woman.

Some wags made fun of the utter ridiculousness of actually wearing a sword a la Wonder Woman - so they stuck even larger things down their back - like a bow, giant sabers, and.

Along with Wonder Woman-themed cups, popcorn buckets and flip-flops, the media powerhouse announced on her Instagram Tuesday that she had enlisted bakery Charm City Cakes to create a themed cake for a "Wonder Woman" party she was throwing for 28 10-year-olds. The film was more or less (more more than more less) flawless except for the fact that a lot of fans took issue with a certain scene in the film.

In this scene, you watch as Army sergeant Milton Warden (played by Burt Lancaster) rolls around in the beachy surf with his Army captain's wife, Karen Holmes (played by Deborah Kerr). Because she is both metaphorically and literally a goddess, Wonder Woman rocks the sword-in-dress look easily, but the scene left many fans wondering just how feasible is it to hide a sword in a dress? As they kiss, flirt, and cavort, Karen lies in the sand at one point, as Warden sits upright and looks down at her before kissing her.

That said, these connections are a hoot to make; I'll be curious to see what else the internet comes up with in the future.
