In a third tweet, posted from the "very rustic" Camp David where the president is spending Father's Day weekend, Trump touted a poll released Friday showing his approval rating reached 50% for the first time in Rasmussen surveys.
"The MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt", the Republican leader tweeted while away on his first weekend to Camp David, the official U.S. presidential retreat in the mountains of western Maryland.
Some of his ire is aimed at Rod Rosenstein, the United States deputy attorney general and investigative special counsel Robert Mueller, both of whom the president believes are biased against him, associates say. "Trump continued, "...massive regulation cuts, 36 new legislative bills, great new S.C.Justice, [sic] and Infrastructure, Healthcare and Tax Cuts in the works!".
The daily was one of several media outlets that reported that Trump himself was being investigated on allegations of obstructing justice. "Witch Hunt." The message apparently referred to Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general whose role leading the federal investigation has become increasingly complicated.
His advisers describe the president as increasingly angry over the investigation, yelling at television sets carrying coverage and insisting he is the target of a conspiracy.
