It's pretty hard across the board: The interview also saw Lorde speaking of her first heartbreak

In a feature published on Saturday, The Guardian asked Lorde what it's like to maintain a friendship with someone as famous as Taylor Swift, who, let's not forget, has been nearly completely off the radar lately except for her recent return to Spotify. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. Between Lena Dunham, Taylor Swift, Tavi Gevinson, Karlie Kloss, and the other Hollywood heavy weights in the singer's inner circle, Lorde stays social-but, honestly, how do any of them find time?!

Then she went on to explain her relationship with Tay Tay is "like having a friend with an autoimmune disease".

She goes on to explain that it's nearly like an undercover mission just to enjoy each other's company. "This kid - this very self-assured 16 year old, who seemed to think she knew everything".

"I think I would have been annoyed by me", she replied.

She grabbed the trophy for International Artist of the Year, with Joe Jonas presenting her with the award.

Thank you, I want to say thank you so much.

I just want to say how grateful I am to everyone who waited for this record. "And that's fine." And Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor, felt "empowered" writing about personal experiences on her latest album "Melodrama".

'I think it's definitely for a long time that I'm going to remember, it's been really formative for me, ' Lorde continued. Speaking on Australia's "60 Minutes" last Sunday (18.06.17), Lorde said: "I'm just the underdog again".

Tickets for gigs in her home country sold out in minutes as New Zealand fans can't wait to see their country's talent return.
