Stranger Things features a retro look and soundtrack and harkens back to the golden days of adventure fantasies by the likes of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

Stranger Things took to Twitter to share an ominous new teaser, and hinted in the caption that the Hawkins citizens' troubles are far from over. Some of you may be wondering why Netflix is releasing the second season of the series on Friday, Oct. 27, and not on Halloween.

However, the wait is now over and the start date for the season has been revealed as October, 27, 20017.

New characters will also be introduced: Sean Astin (The Goonies) plays Bob, who's apparently dating Joyce.

Netflix is returning to Hawkins, Indiana, a little sooner than we expected!
