NBC easily led the broadcast pack with 64 nominations, better than the 41 it got a year ago, thanks largely to This Is Us, which received 11. The ceremony will be televised by CBS.
Comedian Wanda Sykes' guest appearance on ABC's black-ish earned her a nomination in the Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category.

I have come to loathe the Emmys for the way they confuse many of us about quality TV.
When the nominees are announced Thursday in Los Angeles, NBC's "This is Us" has a chance to show network dramas can still be Emmy worthy. Considering that she's in the same category as Shannon Purser, perhaps the awards body didn't feel like they needed any other serious contenders for the award of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
