Fans had been hoping for an Incredibles 2 announcement for years, and many are already looking forward to next summer when the film finally hits theaters.

He also showed new animation tests of the family, as well as concept art that revealed that the Incredibles have a new house - and it's a super lair.

Director Brad Bird will return for The Incredibles 2 as writer and director.

He continued: "One of the unique things about The Incredibles is it's really a story of a family set in the world of superheroes". Apparently, once Elsa and Anna realize they have no holiday traditions of their own, Olaf, with the help of Sven, goes door-to-door in the village asking to borrow other family's holiday rituals. In the new movie, two teen brothers try to find a way to spend one day with their late father.

He then presented a short scene from the film, showing Mr Incredible sleeping on his couch with son Jack-Jack on his chest.

Nelson, Hunter, Sarah Vowell (Violet), newcomer Huck Milner (taking over as Dash) and Samuel L. Jackson (Frozone) joined Bird (who also voices supersuit stylist Edna Mode) onstage to wave to the crowd. Lasseter said he's been waiting for this movie longer than the D23 expo has been going on (the first event was in 2009) and is excited that they can make their old dream a reality. However, Elastigirl will take center stage this time, as Bob has to stay home for reasons that were not specified.

Remember Jack-Jack? The baby from "The Incredibles" has serious powers, and at least some of them are displayed in a new clip that showed him facing off with a raccoon.

Unfortunately, Cooley didn't reveal much about the plot of Toy Story 4, but he showed off a video introducing D23 fans to the other artists and filmmakers up in Emeryville, California. "We're having fun with that idea in this film", said writer/director Bird.

The Incredibles 2 will arrive in Irish cinemas on 13 July 2018. Don't worry if you're a bit hazy: Bird gave the audience this clip featuring Kendall Jenner and Heidi Klum to remind you.
