Michael Owen states his prediction for Chelsea v Burnley

Michy Batshuayi and Victor Moses

Premier League 2017-18 season sees two Manchester clubs as favorites

Both teams will be excited to get the season started and it will be interesting to see how the respective sides line up. He's made history everywhere with Porto, Inter and now he can do it with Manchester United. Conte looked lost for ideas as his team lost for only the fourth time last season.

"But now the Premier League, then the Champions League will come, the FA Cup and the League Cup". No Champions League, no problem? Endure a trophy-less season and he joins Carlo Ancelotti and Mourinho as Chelsea managers sacked a season after winning the league. The over 2.5 goals is the better bet since Chelsea should win 3-0 or 4-0 in my opinion. But do I feel sorry for Chelsea because they don't have enough players?

The Stamford Bridge outfit also have the added demands of the Champions League following last year's absence from European football, with Conte fearing his squad is too thin to cope after selling Nemanja Matic to Manchester United. Guardiola, in bringing Bernardo Silva (Monaco, £43m), Ederson (Benfica, £34.7m), Kyle Walker (Tottenham, £50m), Danilo (Real Madrid, £26.9m) and Benjamin Mendy (Monaco, £49.2m), has firmly set his own imprint on the squad. The spending may continue as well in the run up to the transfer deadline. Tiemoue Bakayoko was probably the only new recruit who was Conte's first choice, as the same can not be said for Alvaro Morata and Antonio Rudiger, who are clearly players with plenty of potential, but will struggle to live up to their hefty price tags.

Now, in a recent interview with Sky Sports, Conte acknowledged the brilliance of Matic and his importance to the team, while also expressing his disappointment at being forced to let go of the midfield anchorman.

Lampard believes Matic will help to transform United into Premier League title contenders this season, as he suggested Paul Pogba may be the biggest victor from the arrival of a new holding midfielder who will give him more freedom to get forward. The Spaniard struggled at times to understand the demands of English football last season and seemed no closer to comprehension at the end. Losing such a key player would hamper Juergen Klopp's hopes of using his second full season at Anfield to show his upbeat demeanor that can be matched with silverware. A significant proportion of overseas signings fail, and many of those who succeed still require a period of adjustment to a competition that poses unique physical and cultural challenges.

The acquisition of Alexandre Lacazatte is a great start for Arsenal. There are other questions as well, with the next three weeks a pivotal time. He was the captain and set the standard every day.

The three promoted teams from the Championship are Brighton and Hove Albion, Huddersfield, and Newcastle. They must box clever to retain their place at the top table.

Chelsea will be looking to bin the bad form when the Premier League begins tomorrow, with Arsenal vs Leicester opening things up.
