The south London club have been strongly linked with a move to appoint former England boss Roy Hodgson to replace the departing Dutch manager.
"To make it clear for everybody and to stop the speculation, I spoke to Steve late this afternoon and said I wouldn't be ready to come back", the former Palace boss told MNF.
"(The future) is for other people to decide but while I'm the manager of Crystal Palace, I will give 100 percent".
"Very disappointed about the decision but never the less I want to thank the players, staff and the fans for their support", De Boer said in a message posted on his Instagram account.
And Jordan, who was chairman of the club from 2000-2010, believes current chair Parish realises the club appointed De Boer in error.
Hodgson has been out of work after his abysmal performance for England at the Euro 2016 Nations Cup.
New Burnley striker Chris Wood, who had joined from Leeds United just before the end of the transfer window for a record deal, latched onto the loose ball and netted it past the goalkeeper for the lead inside three minutes.
"I had good confidence in the squad today but they didn't start with that confidence and maybe that was shown in the goal we conceded, but after that we stood up and we played how we can play". I'm sorry for him because to be a coach in the league is a great experience and to finish this experience after only four games I'm sorry for him.
