Two school officials held over student's murder

The parents have demanded action against the school management for the security lapse.

Senior advocate Niteen Pradhan filed the plea on behalf of the three, seeking an urgent hearing before a bench of Justice Ajey Gadkari, who will now take it up on Tuesday.

Jyoti, Pradyuman's mother, told the media, "My son did not even know the bus conductor as he never travelled in bus". When he reached home, he got the information of murder of Pradyuman. "The bandobast was kept for the safety of students inside the school".

The student was found dead in the school toilet on September 8.

While saying that only Ashok has murdered Pradyumna, the ACP added that negligence of the school is a different matter and two people are being questioned for the same.

The school, however, insisted that they had fallen prey to unfavourable circumstances.

There is also a misconception that only girl children are unsafe in ill-secured schools.

"The committee has detected five lapses in the school such as broken window, ill-equipped fire extinguishers, common toilets, no police verification of conductors and drivers and other ground staff, broken boundary wall and low quality CCTV without having wide-angle facilities, irregularities in students' toilets without guard", Singh told PTI.

- The same policy also stated: "Ensure proper verification of Drivers and Conductors/Attendants from police department which are appointed, if it was not done earlier". The school and its vicinity has been witness to violent protests by angry parents ever since the murder came to light.

Delhi police had said that the Vasant Kunj incident did not look like a pre-meditated murder, but a case of utter negligence on the part of school authorities. Sexual abuse scars children for ever and a murder as foul as the innocent 7 year old's in Gurugram leaves the parents with a life full of pain & utter devastation!

Barring the Pinto family, the names, whereabouts or the eligibility of the other trustees of the St Xavier's Educational Trust - that manages a majority of the group's schools - remain unclear yet.

We will add appropriate sections against the school management or other staff, whoever is found to be involved, at the time of submission of the charge sheet, Khirwar said.

- India Today reports that the school and the local administration together had flouted several security provisions made mandatory by the police and the Punjab & Haryana High Court.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has spoken to victim's father and assured him of a CBI investigation in the case.
