Jose Mourinho Is Furious With Paul Pogba Over Hamstring Injury

Jose Mourinho furious with injured Paul Pogba for ignoring Manchester United medical advice

“I hope he's not hurt as long as we imagine” – French fear as Paul Pogba to miss WC qualifiers

"What I did with Marouane is what I do normally with every player", said Mourinho. "He is a good age".

Pogba's absence allows his midfield counterparts at United the chance to impress, with the league leaders facing a run of fixtures in a number of competitions.

"You have players like Marcus Rashford, a runner who is always looking for the space, and you have [Romelu] Lukaku who can hold the ball in the hard moments".

"He has good friends already in the dressing room and has had an easy integration into our group".

"The way the team plays, they have to. In my experience, muscular injuries stop you from playing for a few weeks, I think", Mourinho told United's official website.

Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba has been nothing but impressive so far this season, the 24-year-old has been brilliant in the middle of the park alongside former Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Pogba limped out of the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel on Tuesday with a torn hamstring. Luke Shaw has fully convalesced, and he's match fit now, but probably won't be selected for United's home clash against Everton this weekend. The 31-year-old spent 13 years at United, becoming the club's highest goal scorer by notching 253 goals in return.

Everton started the season with plenty of promise but Ronald Koeman is facing something of a crisis at the Merseyside outfit despite their summer of investment.

Mourinho does have other midfielders at his disposal to make up the numbers but it will be foolish to assume that they could do anything more than merely soften the blow. Today we went back to two again and I had on the bench Carrick and Fellaini, which were also important players in the last season.

"It's time for the experienced players to stand up".

There have even been rumours that he fell out with Mourinho in April after inviting a guest with alleged close ties to Celta Vigo to the training ground before United were due to play the Spanish side in last season's Europa League semi-finals. Avoiding defeat against Everton will give United its first five-game unbeaten start to the season since 2011-12.
