Seven days removed from a players-only meeting, and more meetings that followed in the days to come, LSU put its season back on track Saturday.
It seemed automatic the Gators would pull even.
LSU's Danny Etling was 9-of-16 passes for 125 yards, while the quarterback ran nine times for 26 yards. The Gators were unsuccessful in moving the ball past midfield and forced to punt.
Linebacker Devin White ended Florida's hopes when he batted down a fourth down pass by Gator quarterback Felipe' Franks. Franks completed a pass to receiver Freddie Swain for a gain of eight before missing on a pass intended for receiver Brandon Powell.
And that was fitting as LSU led Florida tenuously at the moment, 17-16, after Gators' kicker Eddy Pinero missed the extra point after a touchdown with 1:45 to go in the third quarter.
"I know people are not happy, but we have to make sure that we take the criticism and we have to understand that LSU is a premier football program and we've got to make sure when things like this happen we have to bounce back", LSU defensive end Christian LaCouture said.
David Reese and Chauncey Gardner led the club in tackles with 12 each.More news: Las Vegas concert massacre toll reaches 59
The Tigers moved to 4-2 on the season, and are now 4-0 after a loss under head coach Ed Orgeron. Florida sophomore running back Lamical Perine said the Gators had issues getting plays in quickly enough during the fourth-quarter drives.
LSU ran similar plays through the game with three wideouts combining for 10 carries and 105 rushing yards.
Three true freshmen playing most of the game on the offensive line.
Given the team's tumultuous week, this was hardly taunting. Brandon Powell, Josh Hammond and Freddie Swain did little, with the longest catch going for 18 yards.

"At no time was it the intentions of Tiger Band to disrespect or interrupt a tribute of someone we consider a musical icon and apologize to anyone thinking this was the case", the band's statement said.
