Paddock sprayed an outdoor concert with bursts of gunfire from high above in a Las Vegas hotel window on October 1, killing 58 and wounding hundreds more, before shooting himself. All times are Pacific. He purchased all of his firearms legally.

Lollapalooza is an outdoor festival that takes place in Grant Park and spans four days. The Blackstone Hotel overlooks the park. It is unclear if this image is of the gunman or if it will be meaningful.

Hurricane Irma hits Florida.

Donaldson ran the last few blocks to the hotel, he said, but he ditched the cowboy boots he was wearing in the casino because they hurt his feet.

The 27-year-old prostitute said she saw Paddock, 64, about nine times between November 2015 and June 2016 when he traveled to Vegas without longtime live-in girlfriend Marilou Danley.

When a lawyer suggested that a million dollars was a lot of money to bet, Paddock was dismissive.

Danley returned on Tuesday from the Philippines, where Paddock had sent her before the attack and was being interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

As a high-roller, Paddock often got complimentary rooms and he admitted taking a nip from a free bottle of sake on the night he took his tumble and allegedly hurt his hamstring.

"Was he doing pre-surveillance?" President Donald Trump paid a visit to Las Vegas earlier in the week.

"He knew we were coming and we were going to have to come through".

Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo had previously travelled to Mumbai after the 2008 attacks, and said the lessons he learned there had helped shape his officers' fast response to Paddock's shooting.

Paddock had smuggled 24 weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition into the hotel, concealed in 10 suitcases.

The guard was investigating an alarm signalling that a door had been left open on the same floor as Paddock's room, officials said on Monday.

When the gunfire stopped, officer Newton stood behind the door with only a single police shield for protection, while a SWAT officer, Levi Hancock, prepared to blow open the door with explosives. This year the festival began on August 3 and finished on August 6. He said the note was located near one of the windows that Paddock had smashed with a hammer to fire onto the crowd below with high-powered semi-automatic rifles outfitted to increase their rate of fire. The shots are caught on a closed-circuit TV from inside the venue. Concertgoers, confused at first, soon scatter in panic.

Sergeant Joshua Bitsko and Officer Dave Newton of the K9-unit had been training dogs when they heard the message over police radio about an active shooter. "We do not know whether he had planned to cause additional harm outside of what occurred at Mandalay Bay".

Paddock fires his final shots, which are recorded on an officer's bodycam.

Survivors are still reeling five days after Stephen Paddock opened fire from his hotel room on the crowd below before turning the gun on himself.

Paddock wasn't able to move into the room until Saturday, said the person, who was not authorized to speak publicly and disclosed the information to the AP on condition of anonymity.

The officers arrive in the stairwell nearest the suite at the north end of the hall.

They wonder if he had some sort of mental break at the time that drove him to start making plans for mass murder.
