#MeToo trends in SA as women share stories of sexual harassment

Over the weekend, his younger brother Bob Weinstein said: "I have a brother that's indefensible and crazy".

The Weinstein Co., besieged by sexual harassment allegations against its namesake and co-founder, may be putting itself up for sale. The stories came pouring forth on Facebook as well, with nearly 80,000 people reported to be "talking about this" even before daybreak Monday.

The move follows the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - the group that holds the annual Oscars ceremony - which expelled Weinstein on Saturday. Here's NPR's Yuki Noguchi. People are trying to wrap their heads around the fact that one of the good guys is really a bad guy, following the example of "I didn't have sex with that woman" Clinton, "Grab 'em by the pussy" Trump and "Can I get you a drink" Cosby. Say you have a father, a brother, a son who can do better. For others, the sheer volume was disturbing. It's not fun to rat out a badly behaving man, and women often feel shame about being caught in an awkward situation.

What Weinstein did was horrific, and there is also so much about this scandal to roast. If, for example, it's an executive facing charges, sometimes a company will hire an independent third party to investigate.
