Niantic Labs, the developers behind Pokémon Go, have announced that their follow-up game will be titled Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and based on J.K. Rowling's famous book series. A lot of the elements found within Pokémon Go will be present in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, but Niantic assures that new tech and gameplay mechanics will be here it as well. Niantic is teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's newly created Portkey Games division, TechCrunch reported.
Whatever the case, Harry Potter is positively rife with plenty of different characters, subjects, spells, items, and creatures to explore in a mobile game. Niantic has said it was the success of Pokemon Go, and its "unprecedented scale", that made this development possible.
Niantic, the studio behind GPS-based augmented reality (AR) game Pokemon Go, has snagged another major partnership: Harry Potter. The game is called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, which is obviously an adaptation of the immensely popular Harry Potter franchise. They use Augmented Reality to overlay graphics on real-world locations, encouraging players to walk their neighborhood to reveal new secrets. Players could take on the roles of wizards who learn new spells and have to battle other players in real world locations.More news: Democrat Ralph Northam wins Virginia's hard-fought race for governor
Wizard's Unite is supposedly the next project that Niantic will release.
