Of course, you can expect the 18:9 display to follow suit with the smartphone as well.
Launched in NY, the 5T is essentially a OnePlus 5 on the inside, with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, memory and storage options, fast-charging system and Oxygen OS software based on last year's Android 7.1.1, not the newer Android 8 Oreo. Both of those prices mark a $20 increase over the OnePlus 5, but the larger display should be worth the added expense to many Android fans. The OnePlus 5T comes in two variants, the more affordable model includes 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 2-lane storage, while the more expensive model comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 2-lane storage. However, CEO Pete Lau recently tweeted that the cost of smartphone components has been rising, and that OnePlus users will appreciate what's coming.
OnePlus' latest, a "T" release similar to Apple's "S" phones, is kind of like a mid-cycle release. The new 5T also retains the standard headphone port as the company proudly revealed a few weeks ago.
OnePlus has made a name for itself as the self-proclaimed "flagship killer", offering a top-end experience at price significantly less than rivals. However, OnePlus does say that an update to Oreo will be provided at a later date.

A 3,300mAh non-removable battery is included in this smartphone, and you will be able to take advantage of Dash Charge (5V/4A) fast charging in order to recharge it.
The new flagship killer continues to sport a fingerprint sensor, but it's been moved to the back so that OnePlus could accommodate the new display. All of that contributes to a better Portrait Mode with enough data to suss out subject fringing.
OnePlus 5T vs iPhone 8 price: Which offers better value for money?
Just days before the launch of the OnePlus 5T, it was reported that OnePlus smartphones are extremely vulnerable to hacking as anyone can easily get the root access of the phone. It only works to unlock the phone and can not be used to authenticate payments or unlock secure apps. Underneath the lovely body lies the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and Adreno 540 GPU. It is also said to have a 16-megapixel front camera. App launching speeds have been improved too, OnePlus claims, with the refined Oxygen OS with App Priority feature, newly incorporated in the OxygenOS.
A 16 MP front camera is there in the 5T that can record full HD videos too. The presence of Android 8.0 Oreo on the OnePlus 5T is expected to make the overall package an attractive piece of hardware. It also has cellular support for most any network's LTE spectrum.More news: A cool and soggy Wednesday
