Shoppers in downtown West Reading can start their Saturday at 9 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts at Benchwarmers, 400 Penn Ave. Those include a holiday gift expert to give advice to shoppers and a charity Teddy bear room in which to take photos with more than 100 stuffed animals that will be donated to children after the event.

The shop small initiative is a collaboration between Ashland in Motion and local businesses and restaurants to draw customers to downtown and shop on Small Business Saturday while also allowing shoppers a chance to sample dishes from local restaurants.
