Even if you remove the usual uninspired play and baffling offensive game plan from the equation, Fox's bungling of the end of the game is reason enough for him to be let go Monday morning - a week too late already. Purely a boom-bust RB2 option at this point due to his utter lack of receiving skills, Howard gets a worse matchup in Week 14 at Cincinnati.

Former Bears kicker Robbie Gould said he wasn't sending a message to Bears general manager Ryan Pace or any of his former teammates on the sideline, but said his game-winning kick was "pretty special" in San Francisco's 15-14 victory Sunday at Soldier Field. The suburban Chicago and Eastern Illinois product completed 26 of 37 passes with an interception. He nailed all five of his field goal attempts, including the game-winning kick in his return for Chicago.

There's a long way to go when it comes to building this roster around Garoppolo - and that has created some conflict for Niners fans, who have, to their credit, embraced the suck and are rooting for the team to tank, as to land a better draft pick in April.

Marquise Goodwin had eight catches for 99 yards. Elvis Dumervil got one and now has a team-high 5.5 sacks this season. The pass protection wasn't flawless, but they played one of their best games of the season.

Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was 12-of-15 for 102 yards in Sunday's loss to the 49ers.

Rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky wasn't bad, but the Bears need to let him do more.

Cohen backtracked 15 yards on what looked like it might be a disaster for Chicago before he doubled-back, allowing the entire 49ers' coverage unit to overrun him. Trubiskiy recovered his own fumble. He needs an easy-target guy and a vertical threat who can consistently create offense, and if the Bears are serious about making Trubisky the face of their franchise, they have to give him a chance to reach his potential. Among the 49ers inactive players were defensive linemen Tank Carradine and Aaron Lynch. That included a 10-yard touchdown on the run through a tight opening to Louis Murphy on the final play.

With plenty of blockers, Cohen cruised for the 61-yard touchdown that easily could have been a huge negative play.
