Galaxy S9 Will be Announced at MWC — Samsung Confirms

Is Google's Android what's really slowing down Samsung's plan to release a foldable phone this year? That will be important to Samsung as they are believed to be planning to release the flexible screen smartphone as an "ultra-premium" device a step above current flagship level smartphones.

We expect to hear a lot more about the S9 over the course of the next few weeks so stay tuned.

There's good amount of firepower under the hood. Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on this phone, along with Samsung's custom UI, while the device sports two SIM card slots. The same isn't true about the standard Galaxy S9 though. It will remain Amazon exclusive device in the country.

The Galaxy On7 Prime will feature a 5.5 inches Full HD display with 2.5D curved cover glass. The unveiling of the Galaxy S9 comes a month earlier and sales will likely begin in March this year reports ZDNet. The OnePlus 5T uses a 3,300mAh Li-Po unit, while the Honor 10 View has a 3750mAh battery.

Top GfK analyst Imran Choudhary told The Sun that a folding smartphone would "stand out".
