US President Donald Trump has reacted on the latest buzz about American talk show host Oprah Winfrey's possible run for the presidency in 2020. In a 1999 television interview when he said he was thinking about running for president the following year (although he did not), Trump declared, "Oprah would always be my first choice" for a running mate, adding, "she's brilliant" and "a very exceptional woman".

Oprah has in the past said that she has no plans on running for elected office, but sources close to the celebrity have said since that awards speech that she is "actively considering" running for president against Trump in 2020. You know, I did one of her last shows.

The White House also said that Trump would "welcome the challenge" to run against Winfrey.

However, the new poll suggests 48 per cent of likely USA voters would opt for Winfrey if she did enter the fray, compared to 38 per cent who said they would vote for Mr Trump.

Oprah Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King, has downplayed any suggestion that Winfrey might run for president. She'd be sort of like me.' Trump stated at the time. I did one of her last shows.

"No, I absolutely don't think that her position has changed".

The press secretary added: "Is she a successful individual?"

But, King said Tuesday, he mistook what the reported asked him. I believe that she could make a difference in this country. "She is doing very well for herself and this is not something she is seeking or trying to encourage people to even encourage her to run". I do think that.

Twitter stuck it claws into the hide of first daughter Ivanka Trump, and snatched her to the ground, when she tried to show support for Oprah Winfrey following the multimedia mogul's unforgettable speech at the Golden Globe Awards.

Speculation about Winfrey running for White House has been around for some months now.

Winfrey has her own studio, a TV channel and a magazine. Good for her for focusing on that.

"They're the women whose names we'll never know". I do think that.

Much of the awards ceremony had that focus.

"It was the right person giving the right speech at the right time", King said.
