On top of the Google Assistant integrations, Panasonic also announced it was working with Amazon to introduce Alexa natively to the next generation of in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems.

TechJuice for Browser: Get breaking news notifications on your browser. Unlike using a standard smartphone or tablet interface, the Lenovo Smart Display is tailored to providing you the information that's most relevant to you exactly when you need it. The Smart Display does not come with 4G LTE cellular network and it also does not have its own web browser. Adding Google Assistant will make Dish's TV service one one of the friendliest for voice control.

The smart speakers have the potential to disrupt other entertainment devices in the home. This includes commands like: "Change channel to ESPN", "Show me Tom Hanks movies", and "Search for Game of Thrones".

You'll be able to see your calendar on the screen, check recipes, watch videos and more. You will also get proper recommendations for your favourite contents to watch out and to explore within the display. That would apparently put the Google Assistant at the heart of a smart home ecosystem, illustrating its close ties and integrations with other hardware from under the Alphabet umbrella like Nest thermostats and the Chromecast streaming adapter.

Keep in mind, though, that the voice-controlled actions of Alexa aren't something new.

It has an 8-inch display and 10-watt stereo speakers, and JBL's experience means the Link View could be the best-sounding hub of the bunch - although we suspect LG will have something to say about that.
