Arpaio is running for the seat held by Jeff Flake, the Arizona Republican who had announced his retirement on the Senate floor in a speech denouncing Trump.

On Thursday, the topic came up on ABC's "The View" - and Arizona native Meghan McCain had something to say about it.

Obviously, nobody has more baggage than Arpaio. "Presumably, he'll take away some of her support".

Cuomo pressed Arpaio again on the topic: "So you believe that President Obama's birth certificate is a phony?" The president won Arizona by a mere 4 points in 2016, and the population is about 15 percent Latino. He also led a crackdown on illegal immigration. The judge in the case has refused Arpaio's request to erase the conviction.

The primary to decide nominees will be in August, followed by the general election in November.

Asked whether he would close all of U.S. borders to migrants, Arpaio adamantly said no.

Arpaio enters the race with substantial baggage, from his 24 years in office and the presidential pardon. Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales rates the race a Tossup.

But the resulting media coverage and death threats from Arpaio backers broke up the younger Flake's marriage, the lawsuit alleges.

Then there is the possibility that Arpaio is an even worse candidate than Moore.

A high-resolution version of Obama's birth certificate can be downloaded from the White House website. She'll run against community activist Deedra Abboud in the Democratic primary. That's why Arizona voters kicked him out of office in November.

"My idea was, when you come across these people, deport them", Arpaio said. Often, they did not.

Arpaio also scoffed at what he called "civil-rights crap". So it's hard to know how exactly to characterize all of it. "I have a personal interest in that situation".

"No doubt about it. We have the evidence".

Joe went super soft on sex criminals.

Ward, who lost a 2016 GOP primary challenge to Sen. Republican Representative Martha McSally has reportedly told colleagues she plans to run and has scheduled "special announcement" events in Tucson, Phoenix and Prescott on January 12th.

During an appearance on CNN's "Cuomo Primetime" Wednesday, Jan. 10, Arpaio charged that former President Barack Obama's birth certificate is a "phony document" and that he had the evidence to prove it. His "life experience" is what most annoys liberals.

"He burned a dog alive, laughed when the dog's owner cried".

If Mr Arpaio gets Mr Trump's endorsement, it could win him the Republican nomination.
