Samsung unveils new flagship Galaxy S9, S9+ smartphones at MWC

The Galaxy S9 is priced at £739 and both devices will go on sale in the United Kingdom on March 16.

One of the least popular aspects of the Galaxy S8 was the fingerprint sensor that was next to the camera, which made it hard to reach and difficult to tell apart from the camera itself.

In terms of design, not much will change.

Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch 1440p SAMOLED Infinity display and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage.

Earlier it was reported that the prices for the Galaxy S9 and S9 + will amount to 841 euros (about 28 thousand hryvnia) and 997 euros (about 33 thousand hryvnia), respectively. So what, if anything, would make a new Android phone worth an upgrade? Additionally, a bunch of new accessories including an improved wireless charger and a new DeX Pad are also likely to be announced alongside the smartphones.

First, the big one: Samsung accidently posted an official Galaxy S9 promotional video on its YouTube page before quickly taking it down.

Here are the highlights from Samsung's Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 launch event at the MWC 2018.

On both models, the S9 promises improvements to photo quality.

Samsung's variant also captures video at 960 frames per second, but has the option of automatic Motion Detection that automatically begins to record once you have set up the shot. Using the camera of the device, it is capable of mapping your face by leveraging 100 unique points, which generates an animated character that can be used in messaging apps. It says that the Galaxy S9 camera has features inspired from human eyes.

In terms of design, the smartphones come with the exact same design, to the extent of a similar outlay of physical keys on the smartphones. The company has built a mechanical aperture system on the regular S9 that enables users to switch from F2.4 to F.15, which is the brightest available on a smartphone right now. However, the second sensor has a fixed aperture of f/2.4. "Not only do the Galaxy S9 and S9+ enable consumers to shoot great photos and videos anywhere, it's a smartphone that's created to help them connect to others and express themselves in a way that's unique and personal to them". You can also export AR Emoji to video or stockers and share on any messaging platform.

The S9 auto-generates personal AR Emojis based on a photo. He said the phones are recognition that communication has gone well beyond voice. They both also support Intelligent Scan of the Iris and Face, as well as fingerprint scanning, as security measures.

The microSD memory slot and headphone jack will be on both models- GREAT decision. As we update, the most recent updates will be on top following after the dotted line.
