Tom Brady was asked by Stephen Colbert on "The Late Show" about his coping mechanism after losing Super Bowl LII. This is no joke, in an interview from September 2016, Brady said that he had never eaten a strawberry before. "I have no desire to do that".
"It was a 5-point game with the chance to win the Super Bowl, with five minutes and 20 seconds left", he said to the camera. "That's springtime, Tom", Colbert quipped.
"You don't drink beer?" "But you also told NY magazine a year ago, 'I have never eaten a strawberry in my life.' Which is it, Tom?" he asked.
Don't be surprised if you see Brady in the strawberry aisle of the grocery store the next time you're in Boston. So Colbert pulls out a package of strawberries to get him to finally try one, which seems like a situation where hopefully someone nearby has an EpiPen.
After swallowing his first bite, Brady was challenged to indulge in yet another thing he rarely ingests: beer!
Brady will be back in 2018, but he has not declared anything past that.
"I'm sitting here three days after the year getting my Achilles worked on and my thumb and you go, 'What are we doing this for?".
Brady threw back the suds like a college student, leaving Colbert in his dust. Time featuring Brady discussing his hand injury that he said nearly ended his career. You know, through high school and early into college, I was kind of growing into my body in a lot of ways, ' said Brady.
While Brady may be a health nut, his beer-drinking prowess is well-known among those within the Patriots organization.
"How does Danny get so good in the playoffs, man?" he said. "That was really good".
"The key in my belief is pliability", Brady told the late-night host.
