The Union Minister countered the Congress President, saying Rahul Gandhi's hatred for India is astonishing. The proposal was adopted with a consensus by raising of hands. "Congress Party is committed to serve people of India at a time when the country stands at a crossroad as it faces the threat posed by authoritarian, divisive and disruptive forces", it said.

On Gandhis remarks on independence of the judiciary and the media during the Modi governments tenure, Sitharaman wondered from when the Congress became the protector of the judiciary.

Taking a dig at Gandhi, he wanted to know why did the Congress not find fault with electronic voting machines (EVMs) when it was in government for 10 years. And in the process presenting a Second Front under the Congress to take on the might of the BJP in the parliamentary polls.

"We were the fastest growing economy in the world".

"The nation is exhausted and looking for a way out, only Congress can show the way ahead", he said. "I say that not out of arrogance, not out of conceit, I say this because we have done it before and we can do it again beginning next year", he said.
