The Union Minister countered the Congress President, saying Rahul Gandhi's hatred for India is astonishing. The proposal was adopted with a consensus by raising of hands. "Congress Party is committed to serve people of India at a time when the country stands at a crossroad as it faces the threat posed by authoritarian, divisive and disruptive forces", it said.
Rahul received not only an overwhelming greetings after his 55-minute address but he was also mobbed by the party workers for selfie so much so that ultimately the Special Protection Group (SPG) had to nearly physically drag him and Sonia Gandhi from the crowd.

The Congress chief made a pitch for avoiding infighting in the party, at least until the Lok Sabha polls.

On Gandhis remarks on independence of the judiciary and the media during the Modi governments tenure, Sitharaman wondered from when the Congress became the protector of the judiciary.
Taking a dig at Gandhi, he wanted to know why did the Congress not find fault with electronic voting machines (EVMs) when it was in government for 10 years. And in the process presenting a Second Front under the Congress to take on the might of the BJP in the parliamentary polls.
