Xiaomi Redmi S2 doesn't have any surprises in this department. The phone will apparently sport the notch style like the iPhone X. It is believed that the handset will either feature an in-display fingerprint scanner or a structured light 3D facial recognition tech like the one we mentioned earlier.
Redmi S2 has been spotted on certification website TENAA once again. It is powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. You will be able to extend the storage up to 256GB.
The Redmi S2 will come with a 5.99-inch HD+ screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The USP of the device comes in form of the 16MP front snapper with AI modes.
To the back of the smartphone will be a 12MP primary sensor along with a 5MP depth sensor. It is also assisted by artificial intelligence for enabling beautification in selfies.
Xiaomi taunts the Redmi S2 as the "best Redmi selfie phone"; it comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. On a related note, Xiaomi recently discontinued the development of its MIUI 9 to focus on a different version. All of this is powered by a built-in 3080 mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi S2 was launched today in the city of Nanjing at the headquarters of Suning.com. With this depth sensor, the camera will actually feel like a DSLR camera and its picture quality will also be great. Xiaomi claims that this is the "best Redmi selfie phone" ever. So, even if you are waving at the camera, the AI is smart enough to ensure that your hands aren't blurred in the photo. The phone uses a 2 string U shaped antenna design, which could be inspired from OPPO's R9S. Their placement remains the same, which is towards the ends of the phone, much like it is in the Mi 6X.
