NCAA Tournament play at Rhoads Stadium begins Friday, May 18.
The Bulldogs, who were selected as a No. 7 seed in the tournament, will face Harvard on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and the victor of Cal-Northwestern should they advance. It enters the NCAA tournament winners of eight straight at home. This is Tarleton's fourth regional tournament appearance in school history, the third under head coach Bryan Conger and the first since 2014. Friday's winners will play at 2 p.m. on Saturday while Friday's losers will play at 4:30 p.m.in an elimination game.
Arizona also received a top-16 seed, coming in at No. 14, and will host a regional. Blues forward Dimitrij Jaskin continued his hot tournament play with a goal and an assist for the Czech Republic in its 6-0 victory over France. Six Badgers earned All-Big Ten accolades, including three-time victor Kelsey Jenkins who led the league in batting average and on-base percentage.
Last year, with a 50-8 record and Big 12 regular season and postseason titles, OU was left out of the top eight, going to Auburn for super regionals. The win for the Gamecocks clinched the weekend series as Mizzou falls to 31-20 and 10-17 in SEC play.
SFU will come in on a 19 game winning streak, and doing it wilh power. The SEC led the way with 13 entrants.
Oregon State went 0-2 previous year at the Waco Reginal, falling to James Madison and Kent State.
While the accolades are appreciated, the team will now focus on Albany, their first opponent in the Eugene Regional.
The double elimination regional will conclude on May 20 and the victor of the 2018 NCAA Tallahassee Regional will match up with the victor of the Baton Rouge Regional in the NCAA Super Regional round on May 24-27. The last game between the two was an 11-0 victory in Tuscaloosa on April 8, 2015.
