Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif accused the U.S. of "ignoring worldwide regulations and global agreements".

He lauded Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December 2017.

Beitar declared in a Facebook post that it was making the move to honor President Donald Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as the capital city and moving the USA embassy there. Most of the world maintains embassies in Tel Aviv, saying the Jerusalem issue must first be resolved.

Hamas, the Islamist movement that runs the Gaza Strip, vowed protests would continue. Palestinians lay claim to East Jerusalem.

Opening Day is a celebration for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the country at large.

Kushner and Trump daughter Ivanka led a high-powered American delegation that also included the treasury secretary and four Republican senators.

President Trump shared that same sentiment in a prerecorded video for the embassy ceremony.

Palestinian authorities, confirmed the deaths, which came as tens of thousands of Palestinians protested against the move by the US.

"The chairmen of the club, the owner Eli Tabib and the executive manager Eli Ohana have chose to add to the club's title the name of the American President who made history, and from now on will be called Beitar Trump Jerusalem".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, praised the United States president for having made "history".

Schumer has publicly and privately pressured Trump to make the move, including last October in response to an interview of the president by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Kushner, who is also a senior adviser to the US President, called for unity in his address. Regional power Turkey accused Israeli security forces of carrying out a massacre and said the US Embassy move had encouraged them.

The timing of the move has also been slammed, as it is being held a day ahead of Nakba Day ("Day of the Catastrophe"), which this year marks the 70th anniversary of Israel's creation and subsequent displacement of some 700,000 Palestinian refugees.

Gaza's Health Ministry says the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli army fire near the Gaza border has reached 37.

His Dutch counterpart, Stef Blok, said "we don't consider it a wise decision to move the embassy". "We believe that it is possible for both sides to gain more than they give, so that all people can live in peace, safe from danger, free from fear, and able to pursue their dreams".

In a show of anger fuelled by the embassy move, protesters set tyres ablaze and hurled firebombs and stones toward Israeli troops across the border. Sullivan didn't mention a two-state solution or the Palestinian people.

Israel sees all of Jerusalem as its capital, while the Palestinians view East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.

The head of the White house Donald trump at the ceremony was not present, but still delivered a speech on this occasion.

The US was criticised internationally for the decision to relocate the embassy. The new embassy opened officially Monday.

"The football club Beitar Jerusalem, one of the most prominent symbols of the city, are happy to honor the President for his love and support with a gesture of our own", the statement said.

Trump, in a recorded message, said he remained committed to peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Some have indeed done so. In Jerusalem, top Trump administration officials attended events linked to the inauguration of the embassy later Monday.

We know first-hand that censorship against conservative news is real.

Erdan said that Israel "does not wish to escalate and doesn't want the death of residents of the Gaza Strip". Jerusalem is and was Israel's capital. Today is a great day for Florida, Israel and the United States. Let it echo down the marble halls of the presidential palace in Iran, Israel lives.
