Expect mostly cloudy skies overnight into early Tuesday morning, with some lingering rain showers. Lows will be in the mid and upper 60s. Temperatures will top out in the high 70's to low 80's in the valley on Tuesday, and will then fall into the mid to high 70's on Wednesday.
Between Noon and 3 pm Tuesday a new line of showers and thunderstorms develop. We may see a bit of relief in the middle of next week if an upper level low can drop into our area, but that now seems unlikely with it likely staying just to our north.
Thursday will also be mostly cloudy with good chances for showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Some sunshine will allow us to warm into the upper 70s in the Omaha metro. Low to mid 80s are more likely to the east.
The weather will remain unsettled for the week, with swings in temperatures and rain showers, News 12 meteorologists say. Tropical moisture combined with persistent easterly flow setting up brings widespread showers for Friday.
It looks like we keep the chance of rain into the weekend. A line from Clanton to Alexander City and points south could see a stray shower, but most stay dry. That keeps highs in the 80s for the rest of the week. While there could still be a very small thunderstorm chance for Monday, most of the day is dry.
