Kim Kardashian to ask Trump to pardon great-grandma serving life sentence for first-time drug offence

Kim Kardashian at the White House - peak 2018.

Despite an icky history with Donald Trump, the reality TV star and beauty mogul suited up in her business best and crossed the country on Wednesday to meet the president in the White House.

As if that wasn't enough, West recently suggested he would be running for president in 2024.

Dressed in all black with bright yellow pumps, Kardashian West arrived at a security entrance with her lawyer, attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, late Wednesday afternoon.

She further explained that people wouldn't be happy if Kim successfully helped pardon Alice Johnson, the 62 year old woman who's serving a life sentence for a first-time drug offense. It is created to prepare inmates for life outside by providing incentives for participation in job-training and drug-addiction programs and letting non-violent criminals complete the end of their sentence in a halfway house or under home confinement.

Johnson is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole after being convicted of a first-time nonviolent drug offense, according to Mic.

Trump has the power to decide whether or not to pardon Johnson, but there has been no indicated yet as to what he will do. In his tweet, Trump said the two had a great meeting.

A 1997 Associated Press story on Johnson's sentencing said she headed up a multimillion-dollar drug ring. I just ain't feel good about it.

"Today is for you", Kardashian tweeted on May 30, which was Johnson's birthday.

The Hollywood heiress became intrigued by Johnson's dilemma after seeing a video of her on Mic'. "Today is for you".

An online petition to grant clemency to Johnson, started by her daughter, now has more than 250,000 signatures. Kushner's father Charles spent a year in a federal prison camp in Alabama after pleading guilty to illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering.

Kushner has focused on prison reform since joining the administration. Kushner has pushed Congress to support the First Step Act, a criminal justice reform bill that gives inmates an opportunity to re-enter society through transformative programs.

Earlier this month, the Selfish author revealed her plans to meet with the Celebrity Apprentice alum.
