Black Panther and Stranger Things dominate

Meanwhile, in the night's awards stakes, superhero blockbuster Black Panther was named Best Movie, while leading man Chadwick Boseman earned Best Performance in a Movie, Best Hero, and Best On-Screen Team, shared with co-starsLupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, and Letitia Wright.

Boseman thanked the fans for making Black Panther a success but then turned the focus onto Shaw, which you can see below.

"Receiving an award for playing a superhero is incredible", Boseman said.

The film won the Best Movie Award, while T'Challa himself Chadwick Boseman took home two awards, one for Best Performance in a Movie and the other for Best Hero.

The A Star Is Born actress, 32, went on to present the award for Best Movie.

The awards ceremony, which instituted gender-neutral awards for the first time in 2017, crowned its sixth-ever same-sex pair in the category.
