Some XXXTentacion Fans Think The Rapper Faked His Own Death

TMZ reports that the police received a dispatch call describing a pair of suspects who drove away after the shooting.

The rising star was later pronounced dead. TMZ reported the rapper dead and the county sheriff's department stated on Twitter that "The adult male that was taken to the hospital has been pronounced dead". Video circulated online showing XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy), seated inside of his vehicle, not moving.

Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, the rapper known as XXXTentacion, was shot dead in South Florida Monday afternoon, according to local law enforcement. "I just wanted to say, I appreciate and love all of you and I believe in you all", XXXTentacion continued.

Requests for confirmation regarding Onfrony's status have not yet been returned by XXXTentacion's reps or the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

At least one of them fired, and then both suspects fled the scene in a dark SUV, Concepcion said.

However, the real recognition for XXXTentacion came a year ago when his debut album 17 made it to the second spot on the US Billboard 200.

The controversial rapper was also plagued by legal issues, having faced charges of gun possession, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

The rapper is now awaiting trial on domestic violence charges and was recently freed by a judge after being incarcerated for witness tampering in the case.

His music had briefly been taken off Spotify's official playlists under the service's "hateful conduct" policy in response to allegations that he attacked his girlfriend while she was pregnant.
