What’s in Trump’s executive order on family separation?

The official said many of reunited families were back together after a few days of separation.

Then voting on a so-called compromise bill between the party's hard-right and moderate wings was pushed back to Friday, before it was postponed again until next week, multiple Republican aides said. Some mothers were deported without their kids.

Over the weekend, the First Lady spoke out against the policy, calling the children being separated from their parents something she "hates to see".

'It is an affront as the senior senator of this state that an agency head would tell me that I do not have entrance into a federally funded facility where the lives and health of children are at stake'. A VOA reporter at an immigration court hearing in Brownsville, Texas, Thursday morning said prosecutors dropped misdemeanor charges against 17 migrants.

Ivanka Trump, a White House adviser who is an advocate in the White House for women and families, has not spoken out publicly on the zero tolerance policy at the border which has separated hundreds of children from their parents or adult guardians.

But president showed no sign of softening.

Trump's executive order could allow the government to argue separation was necessary on the grounds that detention facilities were too crowded, for instance, said Greg Siskind, a Memphis immigration lawyer. Trump decided to make the trip a day after the president signed an executive order to stop the separation of families, but it's not her timing people are questioning-it's her fashion choice.

It was unclear which bases would be used. The children at the center stay for about 58 days, with half of the children being placed with their parent, 40 percent placed with a relative in the US and about 10 percent going into foster care or to family friends. They accused Trump of failing to address a crisis of his own making and called for the immediate reunification of immigrant children with their families. "Saving the life of someone fleeing war and poverty is an act of humanity", the pope said on Twitter. Democrats oppose both measures. In the meantime, defense contractors, wealthy organizations, and commercial airlines continue to facilitate the children's detention.

Melania Trump has surprised the world by visiting child migrants on the US-Mexico border - but it was her choice of clothing for the trip that stunned the internet: a jacket emblazoned with the words "I really don't care, do you?" To exit the vehicle and head to the plane that would take her to Texas, FLOTUS wore a green hooded jacket that features graffiti on the back that reads "I really don't care, do u?".

According to a statement from the first lady's spokesperson Stephanie Grisham, there's "no hidden message" behind Trump's wardrobe choice.

The jacket, with its message in white letters similiar to graffiti, received heavy coverage on social media Thursday. That the first lady had shed the jacket by the time she disembarked in Texas may indicate it was not, in fact, the families at the heart of the immigration issue.
