- It's a tale of two jackets. first lady Melania Trump wore a white one while visiting Texas Thursday.
On the ground in Texas, the first lady, without the jacket, expressed her desire for migrant children to be treated humanely. Some media reports suggested there was a hidden message that she doesn't care about her husband Donald Trump's "zero tolerance" on immigration policy. "Mainstream Fake Media hates this story", Trump tweeted Saturday morning.
The fate of 2,300 children wrested from their parents at the U.S. border with Mexico remained unclear Friday two days after Donald Trump ordered an end to migrant family separations, as the president accused Democrats of spinning "phony" tales of suffering for electoral gain. "Do u?" written on the back.
A fact sheet on "zero-tolerance prosecution and family reunification" released Saturday night by the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies involved in the separations also says a parent must request that their child be deported with them. But after public outcry, President Donald Trump on Wednesday ordered that they be brought back together.
By then the jacket was nowhere in sight.

She visited a schoolroom and chatted with about 20 young girls and boys. On the wall was a hand-painted American flag and the children signed it.
At the facility the first lady talked with staff about how the children were being treated and asked how she could help.
The Trump administration is also seeking changes to a decades-old settlement governing the detention of immigrant children to try to be able to keep children with their parents in custody for longer periods of time.
"Ivanka feels very strongly, my wife feels very strongly about it, I feel very strongly about it".
"I was already on the journey", she said as she waited for a bus to Los Angeles to join family. "We stand proudly with immigrants and support their rights and RAICES does unbelievable things for these families".
Melania's trip to Texas was cut short by heavy rain and flash flooding.
USA Today reported Friday that the government began issuing identification numbers to families being separated the previous week; prior to that, however, there was reportedly no system for keeping track of parents and children concurrently, according to the New Yorker.
